High School Placement Test

High School Placement Test

All 8th grade students applying to Benedictine must sit for the High School Placement Test (HSPT). The HSPT allows our Guidance Department additional insights into the students academic abilities to ensure proper placement into Freshman classes. Test scores play a major role in course placement Freshman year.

The HSPT is composed of subtests in areas of Verbal Skills, Quantitative Skills, Reading, Math, and Language, taking around three hours. BC does administer the Science section of the HSPT test which allots an extra 25 minutes of testing time. The results of the Science section are not included in the total composite score of the HSPT results.

Scholarships

The HSPT also qualifies students for our Benedictine Scholar Awards
